It is reported that Skanska has won a GBP 92 million contract from Costain and will work with them on a scheme to build around 33 kilometers of electricity cable tunnels for National Grid through London.

The cable tunnels are 3 meters and 4 meters in diameter and will be located between Hackney and Willesden and between Kensal Green and Wimbledon in southwest London.

Work is set to start this year, with the tunneling being completed by end of 2014 and with all associated works completed in November 2018.
