
The National Statistical Institute said that housing prices in Bulgaria have slid by 0.8% between April and June 2010 period as compared with the previous quarter.
On an annual basis, home prices have shed 9.7%. The second quarter saw declines in 13 cities, the sharpest in Gabrovo (-8.3%), Shoumen (-7.8%) and Vratsa (-6.9%).
Home prices in Sofia remained unchanged and 15 cities experience a rise. Bulgarian homes were selling for an average of BGN 971 per square meter in the second quarter, the highest in Varna (BGL 1,594 per square meter), followed by Sofia (BGL 1,558 per square meter) and Bourgas (BGL 1,231 per square meter). The least expensive dwellings were found in Kyustendil, at BGL 569 per square meter.
