According to the data announced by National Statistics Institute, the volume of construction works, raw series, fell by 13.3% YoY in January to August 2009 period.

On structure elements, there were drops to the maintenance and current repair works, by 24.1%, to the capital repair works, by minus 23% and to the works of new constructions (-8%). On kinds of works, the volume of works went down to the engineering works by 18.3%, to the non residential buildings by 12.4% and to the residential buildings by 3.5%.

According to the INS data, in the first 8 months of 2009, the volume of the construction works, adjusted series, function of the number of workdays and of seasonality, reported a drop by 8.9%. On structure elements, registered were drops to all the components, to the works of maintenance and current repairs (-20.1%), to the works of capital repairs (-18.5%) to the works of new constructions by 2.5%.

On types of constructions, there were drops for the engineering works, by 15.1% and for the non residential buildings by 6.8%. It is only to the residential works, that the volume of the building works rose by 1.6% in the January to August 2009 period.
