Ssangyong Motor Co has reported its eighth straight quarterly loss for the third quarter of this year, casting another shadow on the company's efforts to emerge from bankruptcy.

The third quarter net loss at Ssangyong, which has been under bankruptcy protection since February 2009, widened to KRW 89.7 billion in the July to September 2009 period as compared with a loss of KRW 28.1 billion for the same period last year.
