Novinite reported that funds in the amount of EUR 250 million would be transferred from the EU operational program Transport for the construction of the subway in Bulgaria's capital Sofia.
Mr Tomislav Donchev minister of EU Funds at Bulgaria said that EUR 90 million would be transferred from the railroad infrastructure and road construction program.
Mr Donchev said that the transfer does not mean this would be the fixed long term funding and other relocations of resources could be expected, noting the fast rate of the building of the Sofia metro.
The council has coordinated the 2011 use of funds under all 7 EU operational programs.
Mr Ivaylo Moskovski deputy transportation minister further explained about EUR 120 million would be used for the purchase of new metro trains.
