It is reported that steel mills in Southern Taiwan delayed to release the new rebar list prices this week.
In fact, market participants predicted that Southern Taiwan’s rebar mills would cut the prices by TWD 300 per tonne this week as Taiwanese Feng Hsin cut the scrap prices by TWD 300 per tonne in September 30th 2011.
However, Southern Taiwanese steelmakers said that they would delay the price announcement rather than cut prices due to weak demand.
Meanwhile, the rebar prices in South Taiwan were at TWD 21,100 per tonne last week.
