Scunthorpe Telegraph reported that pay talks on behalf of 3,000 employees at the TATA Steel works in Scunthorpe are set to continue into a fourth month.
Union negotiators have made it clear they want a 3.9% pay rise for 2012-13 in line with the rate of inflation. That is above last year's final settlement of 3.5%.
But TATA Steel bosses remain tight lipped over what, if anything, has been offered.
A company spokesman said that "The annual review of pay and conditions effective from April 1st 2012 has commenced. Initial meetings have been held and the discussions are continuing. It would be inappropriate to comment further."
Mr Sean Scorer, the chairman of the Scunthorpe works multi union committee, said that "Due to diary commitments, it's unlikely there will be another meeting between the two sides until July 2012."
