According to statistics, Taiwan imported 2.589 million tonnes of scraps in the first half of 2012, falling by 4.3% YoY.

In the given period of time, the US was the largest scrap exporter to Taiwan with 1.547 million tonnes, rising by 1.4% YoY.

Meanwhile, 202,691 tonnes were imported from Hong Kong, down by 0.9% YoY and 75,548 tonnes were from Australia, soaring by 28% YoY.
