Recently, the steel pipe makers in Taiwan are reluctant to cut prices further to gain orders due to sluggish market demand.

Last week, China Steel Corporation announced to reduce its September 2012 list prices of hot rolled steel by TWD 1,000 per tonne, which is lower than the steel pipe makers' forecast.

Therefore, it's expected that CSC might cut its list prices further for October and November 2012.

In addition, the buyers have been taken wait-and-see attitude towards the market, causing the market demand remain sluggish.

The steel pipe producers said that since the market demand has remained weak, they prefer to negotiate the prices with buyers case by case instead of cutting list prices further.
