The professionals at John Hine Temecula Mazda, the leading Mazda dealership in Temecula CA, care about the safety of their customers. That's why they are proud to announce that Mazda Motor Corporation has become the first automaker to successfully develop vehicle components using 1,800 MPa ultra high tensile steel.

Mazda Motor Corporation partnered with Sumitomo Metal Industries Limited and Aisin Takaoka Co Limited to produce the super strength steel, which will debut in the all new Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV in early 2012.

The 1,800 MPa ultra high tensile steel will be used on beams which fit inside the front and rear bumpers of the vehicle. The new beams allow the bumpers to be 20% stronger than previous versions. At the same time, the new steel also allows the bumper parts to be thinner and more lightweight, which makes the vehicle lighter overall, improving fuel economy.

Mazda worked with Futaba Kogyo Co Limited to use the best possible welding techniques to ensure the highest level of safety in the upcoming 2012 Mazda CX-5 in Temecula at Temecula Mazda.

Mazda Motor Corporation remains committed to reducing vehicle weight and improving dynamic performance while maintaining excellent crash worthiness to provide all customers with the best in performance and safety.
