The company stands out in the ranking by the magazine Expansion Mexico for its investments in projects to increase capacity of its production and plants.

Ternium ranks high this year, as it is among the 15 companies that invested the most in Mexico. Ternium comes 8th in the 108th edition of the ranking by Expansion Mexico, which was published on December 19th 2011.

The list includes a total of 25 companies, which were selected based on a review of all companies that made their investments public, as well as those that answered a form at the magazine’s request. From these companies, the ones that reported highest investments were selected.

Ternium reported an investment budget of USD 428 million. This amount will be allocated to increase its production capacity, which accounts for 37% of the total amount the company will invest between 2010 and 2013.

The magazine said that "Between January 2010 and December 2013, Ternium will have invested almost 1,300 MDD, from which more than 94% will be allocated to the state of Nuevo Leon for projects aimed at raising its production, increasing capture of gas emissions and improving the company's capacity to move forward towards the manufacturing of products with greater added value."

It added that "The Pesquería Project stands out, which at the same time comprises Ternium's Tenigal and Pesquería Plant projects, which represent 56.4% and 27.4%."

According to the ranking, which includes America Móvil, Walmart, Telmex, Grupo México and Femsa, total investment of the 25 companies in 2011 amounted to USD 11,400 million.
