Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc has announced that it will demonstrate the newest member of its family of Thermo Scientific Niton handheld XRF analyzers, the Niton® XL2 Series, at POWER-GEN International 2009 taking place December 8th to December 10th 2009 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Niton analyzers provide users nondestructive analysis for PMI, alloy verification and analysis of trace alloy content in carbon steel for FAC modeling. Thermo Fisher Scientific is the world’s leading manufacturer of handheld x ray fluorescence analyzers.
Mr Bob Wopperer director of marketing and business development for Thermo Scientific Niton Analyzers said that "With the launch of the Niton XL2, we now offer a range of products to the electric power generation industries which are engineered from the ground up to help eliminate any guesswork in verifying metal alloys for use in critical process systems."
He added that "We know that the potential for material mix-ups is very real and that the need for traceability is a priority. Our nondestructive analyzers provide a worry free solution that takes control of material verification, recovery of lost traceability, and isolation of finished welds to validate filler material and dilution all without damaging samples in any way, which can save both time and additional testing expense."
