
Birmingham Business Journal reported that ThyssenKrupp Materials North America Inc is getting up to USD 280,500 in incentives from Bibb County for a new plant.
A to the Birmingham Business Alliance, the county is giving the Michigan based company USD 100,000 in preparation work at the Woodstock site and USD 4,000 for every job it creates up to USD 100,000 after the initial hiring of 20 people in early 2013.
The BBA said that the county will also chip in USD 80,500 as its part of a USD 428,000 Alabama Department of Transportation grant for road access improvements at the plant.
The development group said that besides those, the company will also get tax abatements and funding for training from the state.
In return, ThyssenKrupp announced on September 25th 2012 that it would hire up to 45 people within five years and build a 100,000 square foot, USD 13 million facility.
The project, code named Deep South, has been in the planning phase for months, as it reported on September 14th 2012.
