
Nikkei reported that Toshiba Corporation has entered talks with US power generation equipment supplier Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc over a possible tie up in the thermal power generation business.
As per report, the company aims to work with the US firm to develop business in India and other emerging markets where demand is expanding. Toshiba will also try to use the alliance to secure maintenance contracts at existing plants in the US.
Toshiba has concluded that its steam turbines and power generators and Babcock & Wilcox's boiler technology complement each other.
