US Steel Kosice, Slovakia based subsidiary of the US based group, has announced the opening of its sales office in Milan in Italy.

The new office will focus on other business opportunities and expand business activities of the steelmaker in Italy. The sales office will be managed by Enrico Caruso, the former head of sales of Italian operations of Essar Steel, Corus and ArcelorMittal.

Mr Christian Korn VP for sales and marketing of US Steel Kosice said that "Opening of this new sales office is another step forward in line with our new business strategy."

He added that the aim of management is to draw customers not only by opening new offices that are geographically close to them, but also by stepping up their communication.

Mr Korn said that "This strategy will help us to understand the needs of our customers and local business conditions and allow us to provide quality steel products."

US Steel Kosice is an integrated steel mill producing hot rolled coils, cold rolled coils, hot dip galvanized steel, pre painted galvanized steel, tinplate and tubular products.
