It is reported that a major plate reroller in Italy has booked 50,000 tonnes of steel slabs from Ilyich at a price of USD 480 per tonne FOB Mariupol.
It is leading to a CIF FO cost of about USD 500 per tonne to USD 505 per tonne (EUR 406 per tonne to EUR 410 per tonne).
Considering conversion costs elements of about EUR 100 per tonne, the costing for plates is working out to about EUR 500 per tonne to EUR 510, which is roughly EUR 100 per tonne less than present market price.
