Mr José Carlos Martins executive director of marketing, sales and strategy at Vale said that the Vale is still looking for a partner for the Steel Company of Ubu.

He said that already rolled steels of Pará must have begun their work by the end of the year. The design of the Alpa is still subject to approval of the board of the mining company.

Recently, Mr Martins said that Vale plans to invest this year more than USD 1 billion in its steel projects ThyssenKrupp Companhia Siderurgica do Atlantico, Rolled Steel Para and Companhia Siderurgica Companhia Siderurgica Pecem Ubu. In total, these projects should add a production capacity of 18.5 million tonnes of steel.
