Nhan Dan reported that Vietnam has earned an estimated USD 4.8 billion from exports in November 2008, down by USD 240 million as compared to October 2008. This has been the third consecutive month that monthly export turnover has decreased.

Vietnam's total export turnover in the January to November 2008 period is estimated at USD 58.54 billion.

In November 2008, Vietnam has imported an estimated USD 5.3 billion worth of products, bringing the total import turnover in the past 11 months to over USD 75.4 billion, up by 38.4% YoY.

Products that saw high import growths include steel end products up by 140.8% YoY and steel billet up by 62.6% YoY.
