APA group has awarded WDS a contract for the Roma to Brisbane Pipeline Metro Looping Project, which includes the installation of approximately 5.8 kilometers of pipe through horizontal directional drilling and trenching.

The 5.8 kilometers of pipe will be DN400 steel, in a project that has a construction period of 21 weeks.

A project spokesperson from WDS said Pipeline Drillers Group has been awarded the horizontal directional drilling component of the works.

Work is scheduled to commence early in 2012, with practical completion expected in the second quarter of 2012.

The Roma to Brisbane Pipeline is 100% owned and operated by APA Group and transports natural gas from the gas hub neat Roma to the markets of Brisbane and the regional centers along the pipeline route.
