
Engineering giant WorleyParsons Limited said that it will form an alliance with United States Steel Corporation to support four major integrated steel works, worth about USD 50 million in revenue.
The contract, which covers projects with an installed value between USD 100,000 and USD 100 million, also includes work on US Steel's tube making operations and ongoing production support.
Mr Robert Edwardes regional MD of WorleyParsons US, Latin America and Caribbean said in a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange that "This is a significant award for WorleyParsons and is consistent with our strategy to continue to expand our involvement in the global steel industry. US Steel is one of the world’s great steel companies and we are committed to working with them to improve safety performance, productivity and efficiency by utilizing our global experience and advanced systems and processes."
The agreement with US Steel will commence in November, with a nominal term of 3 years.
