
ALCOA and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China have announced that they are jointly exploring leading technology solutions for the design and development of a 190 seat aircraft.
According to Alcoa, through a technology cooperation agreement, the 2 companies are examining advanced aluminum structural concepts, designs and alloys to create China’s new, large passenger jet, the C919.
COMAC said that its goal is to design an efficient, high performance structure which will compete in the global aerospace market. Therefore, it is imperative it looks at design alternatives and collaborate with innovative materials technology leaders like Alcoa.
