Alcoa announced that it has been named the 2011 Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation of the Year by the Washington Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The award recognizes significant contributions that Alcoa’s Intalco Works and Wenatchee Works have made in their communities and in the state and the company’s overall commitment to community well being.

AFPWA honors outstanding philanthropic recipients each year in various categories including Philanthropic Corporation, Small Business, Organization, Philanthropists, Family and Young Philanthropist.

Mr Bob Wilt Alcoa’s President of US Primary Products indicated that over the past 4 years, Wenatchee Works and Intalco Works have contributed over USD 1.4 Million to local partners and non profits through Alcoa and Alcoa Foundation. We employ a combined workforce of 1,060 in Washington and make it our mission to be engaged and responsible stewards in the community. We take great pride in fulfilling our role as a corporate citizen, and to be recognized for those efforts is an honor.
