Aleris named Mr John Zhu president of Aleris China. Mr Zhu is responsible for directing Aleris Rolled Products and Extrusions operations in China and developing and executing the growth strategy for all Aleris businesses across the region.

Mr Zhu was most recently China president for Wartsila, a global leader in complete lifecycle power solutions for the marine and energy markets, where he led its China operations since 2008 including strategy development and its production expansion in the region. Prior to that he was China Country Manager for Eaton's Truck Group where he directed strategy and centralized operations. He also led the overall business development strategy in China for Tenneco Automotive with multiple JV operations.

He received an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China and a Diploma in International Business from the Shanghai Foreign Economic and Trade University in China.
