Alstom Projects India Limited has informed BSE that the company has been awarded contracts worth INR 365 crore by Hindalco Industries Limited for supply and installation of 4 gas treatment plants.

Under the terms of the contracts, the company will design, engineer, supply, install and commission 2 gas treatment plants each at the Mahan and Aditya aluminum smelters located in Madhya Pradesh and Orissa.

The plants, due on stream in early 2012 will capture, filter and recycle corrosive gas produced by the smelters, notably hydrogen fluoride, improving air quality and thus conforming to the environmental.
