Reuters reported that Aurubis , Europe's biggest copper smelter cut its copper products output this year in response to weaker demand.

The firm is still producing copper cathodes at its maximum capacity of 1.15 million tonnes per year but has been processing less cathodes into copper products as demand for the latter has softened.
