Western Australia based Avonlea Minerals has been placed in a trading halt at the company's request, pending an announcement regarding a capital raising.

Avonlea has gold and base metal interests in central Queensland and iron ore rights to the Diemals Iron Ore Project in Western Australia. The company's main focus is currently on Namaibia, where it holds exclusive prospecting licenses.

Avonlea acquired 95% of the issued capital in Eris Mining Limited a Namibia incorporated exploration company in May 2009.
