The Board of Black Fire Minerals provides the following update in relation to the Kangeshi Copper Project located in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On January 19th 2012 Black Fire was advised by the Project Manager, Rift Valley Minerals Limited that they had received an unexpected letter from the DRC Ministry of Mines instructing the immediate suspension of all exploration activities on the Kangeshi licence pending the potential establishment of a new forestry nursery within the Kundelungu Plateau area.

RVM have advised that as they understand it, the letter is not a cancellation of the Kangeshi licence. RVM have further advised that they have complied with the instruction from the Ministry but have commenced seeking formal clarification from various DRC Government bodies in relation to this instruction.

The Black Fire Board is obviously disappointed with this unexpected development but has advised RVM of its ongoing commitment to the Kangeshi Project and offered its support to the RVM Board & Management team in resolving this matter as quickly as possible.
