BrightStar Resources a JV with African Eagle has announced high grade gold results of 520,000 troy ounces of gold from its drilling program at Miyabi gold project in Tanzania.
The company said in a statement that these results are from the area south west of the 130,000 oz Kilimani Deposit and represent extensions to the Kilimani resource and a new, high grade zone with untested strike potential of 1000 meters.
Mr Paul Payne BrightStar Technical Director said that the high grade intersection south west of the Kilimani deposit further demonstrates that gold mineralization at Miyabi is prolific and that it also has the potential to host high grade resources. Deeper drilling of the new discoveries will take place as soon as possible in the New Year.
These latest results define two new zones of mineralization within the southern portion of the Miyabi Structural Corridor. The zones have been tested with wide spaced RAB drilling and each has strike length potential of approximately 1 kilometer.
Other results included 33 meter at 4.36 gram per tonne gold from 9 meter to end of hole including 21 meter at 6.7 gram per tonne from 15 meter with 3 meter at 22.6 gram per tonne from 33 meters.
1. 15 meter at 0.81 gram per tonne from 24 meter to eoh including 3 meter at 2.5 gram per tonne from 33 meter.
2. 24 meter at 0.52 gram per tonne from 15 meter to eoh including 6 meter at 1.61 gram per tonne from 24 meter.
Mr Brightstar said that planning is underway for an extensive RC and diamond drilling program at the end of the wet season. Drilling is expected to commence in April 2012. Results for a small number of RAB holes are still awaited.
