According to data released by Chinese customs, China's bauxite imports in September totaled 4.478 million tonnes which hit nearly 4 month new high and almost equal to the imports amount of 4.502 million tonnes in May this year.

The bauxite imports from January to September totaled 32.724 million tonnes total which rose by 52.32%.The bauxite source of imports in September are still concentrated in Indonesia and Australia.

Regarding to the reason, it is close associated with the domestic alumina business operation continued to rise at the same time, domestic bauxite resources development is lagging behind, thus making increasing the total imports of bauxite.
