China Yunnan Copper Australia and Goldsearch have hit some significant copper, cobalt and rare earth element uranium mineralization at the Elaine Dorothy, Mary Kathleen JV in Queensland.
Highlights include
1. New zone of copper cobalt sulphide mineralization grading;
(I). 49 meters 0.44% copper, 283ppm cobalt from 25 meters
(II). Inc 24 meters 0.63% copper, 301ppm cobalt from 46 meters
2. Broad rare earth element+/-uranium mineralization grading;
(I). 25 meters 2043ppm TREO, 0.07 kilogram per tonne U3O8 from 69 meters
(II). 13 meters 2550ppm TREO, 0.09 kilogram per tonne U3O8 from 149 meters
(III). Inc 7 meters 3300ppm TREO, 0.13 kilogram per tonne U3O8 from 151 meters.
3. Copper mineralization not reported by historical percussion drillhole visual sulphide intersection.
4. New zone of TREO and uranium mineralization 200m along strike from the Elaine Dorothy JORC Inferred Resource.
5. Next step is resource growth; both at surface and down plunge at the Elaine Dorothy deposit and exploratory drilling targeting Cerium in soil anomalies at the Elaine 2 and Elaine 3 prospects.
The TREO and uranium mineralization find is perfectly positioned just 200 meters along strike from the Elaine Dorothy JORC Inferred Resource of; 83,000 tonnes at 0.28 kilogram per tonne U3O8 and 3200 ppm TREO undertaken by Hellman and Schofield Private Limited.
The newly discovered uranium rare earth mineralization is dominated by cerium and is generally fracture related with narrow breccias to 5 centimeters developed, within the garnetite dipside skarn.
The mineralization may be related to the presence of black laths, tentatively identified as allanite and is associated with carbonate-magnetite tremolite alteration and fracture fill. This style of mineralization is thought to be similar to that of the Mary Kathleen deposit.
