According to provisional figures from the International Aluminum Institute, daily average primary aluminium output rose to 63,400 tonnes in October from a revised 63,200 tonnes in September.

Total production in October was 1.966 million tonnes compared with a revised 1.897 million tonnes in September. Total production in October 2008 was 2.187 million tonnes

Primary aluminium production in China rose to 1.294 million tonnes in October from 1.219 million tonnes in September and 1.106 million tonnes in October of 2008.
