
Chile's National Copper Corporation, Codelco is coming to Colombia willing to invest.
Mr Mauricio Cardenas Santamaria energy and mining minister of Chile who's attending the World Economic Forum in Switzerland said that "First date in Davos: Mr Diego Hernandez, president of Codelco. He is interested in exploring copper."
Soon after he tweeted again, stating, Codelco is the leading producer of copper in the world. It is interested in exploring in Colombia. Codelco is owned by the Chilean states and has 20% of the world's copper reserves. The company has active assets of USD 20.3 billion.
During the forum, taking place from January 25th through 29th 2012, Cardenas will take part in a panel discussion entitled Latin America: The transformation in a new global context alongside the Mexican President Mr Felipe Calderon, Peruvian President Mr Ollanta Humala and Panamanian President Mr Ricardo Martinelli.
The minister will participate in the Responsible Mineral Development Initiative, where key mining experts and players will suggest ways to improve the development potential of mining.
