Reuters quoted Canadian uranium miner Denison Mines Corporation as saying that US court has denied a motion for a preliminary injunction that would have halted operations at its Arizona 1 mine.
Denison Mines said that the motion filed by the Center for Biological Diversity along with other groups was denied by the US District Court for the District of Arizona.
The plaintiffs had argued that Denison's existing mine plan was invalid and that regulators would need to review a new mine plan for operations at Arizona 1 to continue. The Arizona 1 mine, which went into production in December 2009, is an under ground uranium mine located in northern Arizona.
Denison, a mid sized uranium producer, operates assets in the Athabasca Basin region of Saskatchewan, Canada along with assets in the US states of Colorado, Utah and Arizona.
