Reuters reported that US based Doe Run, a privately held integrated lead producer new technology was on target to produce the battery material around the end of 2013 when its big, ageing Herculaneum plant is due to close.

Mr Jerry Pyatt COO of Doe Run said that "Looking at the project schedule, we're still on schedule to have it constructed and operating by the time Herculaneum is taken down by the end of 2013."
