
Dr Caleb Fundanga Zambia’s Central Bank Governor has been dropped from his portfolio after serving the Lusaka based Bank for more than 9 years.
However, according to reports, the central Bank Governor has had his services terminated with immediate effect, according to a memo circulated within the Bank’s heads of departments dated September 28th 2011.
This services to advise you all that my appointment as governor of Bank of Zambia has been terminated with immediate effect read part of the memo circulated to among other heads of departments and Dr Austin Mwape senior staff, deputy governor for operations and his counterpart Dr Tukiya Mabula Kankasa.
Dr Fundanga expressed deep appreciation for the cooperation staff members accorded him over the last nine and half years which according to him, enabled the bank enabled the country achieve positive contributions to the operations of the bank.
He said that “I am thankful to you all for your dedicated service which has assisted me to make appositive contribution to the operations of the bank.”
He had no doubt that the staff of the Lusaka based bank will continue to achieve positive results at all times to attain the objectives of the bank.
