KUNA quoted Qatar Aluminum as saying that the Gulf Cooperation Council countries' aluminum production represents 13% or 6.3 million tonnes per year of global output.

It said that the GCC countries have sufficient infrastructure and elements that enable them to establish any industry based on raw aluminum. Appropriate economic and legislative legisations energy sources and industrial infrastructure have facilitated the creation of aluminum related industries.
