China Knowledge reported that Guangdong Province exported 1,336 tonnes of rare earth in the first eight months of this year up by 160%YoY and the export value skyrocketed 180%YoY to USD18.46 billion.

Average export price was USD 14,000 per tonne up by 6.2%YoY.

During the period from January to August, Guangdong exported 608.8 tons of rare earth to Japan an amount 82.1% more than that of the corresponding period of 2009 and it exported 474.5 tonnes and 178.6 tonnes of rare earth to the EU and the US respectively.

Guangdong rare earth export in the above three markets accounted for 94.5% of the total.
