Hindustan Copper net drops 21pct for Q2

Hindustan Copper reported a steep drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2009. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 21.37% to INR 144.60 million from INR 183.90 million in the same quarter previous year.
Net sales for the quarter declined 28.43% to INR 2,399 million while total income for the quarter fell 29.08% to INR 2,487.70 million when compared with the prior year period.
It posted earnings of INR 0.16 per share during the quarter registering 33.33% decline over prior year period.
