
China Knowledge reported that Jinchuan Group Limited is in the negotiation to acquire nickel assets in Vietnam and copper assets in Kyrgyzstan.
Mr Wang Haizhou president of Jinchuan Group said that the company has kicked off a long term plan to purchase nickel resources in Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, South Africa, Canada, Cuba and Australia and to acquire copper resources in Chile, Peru, Kazakhstan, Congo and Philippines.
The firm hopes to have an annual output capacity of 200,000 tonnes of nickel by 2015 from current 130,000 tonnes and its copper output capacity is also expected to swell to 600,000 tonnes in 2 years.
Recently, Jinchuan Group increased its refined nickel price by CNY 2,000 per tonnes to CNY 169,000 per tonnes which was the fifth time the firm raised prices of this kind since early July.
