
Reuters reported that Kazakhstan's refined copper output declined by 5.5% YoY in the first 6 months of 2011 while zinc production edged up.
Refined copper production in January to June 2011 was 166,330 tonnes. Refined zinc output totalled 158,373 tonnes or 0.1% more than in the same period of 2010.
Production of alumina rose 2.1% in the first 6 months of the year and bauxite production was up 1.6%. Refined lead production increased by 17.3% and crude steel output by 23.3% in the same comparison.
