Kazakhstan's refined copper and zinc production edged down marginally in the first 4 months of the year.

State statistics data released showed that refined copper production in January and April 2011 was 109,835 tonnes down 1.1% YoY and refined zinc output totalled 104,645 tonnes a decline of 0.2% versus the same period of 2010.

Production of alumina rose 3.1% in the first 4 months of the year and bauxite production was up 2.3%. Refined lead and crude steel production both increased by more than 25% in the same comparison.
