
RIA Novosti quoted the national nuclear power company Kazatomprom as saying that Kazakhstan's uranium output increased 61% YoY in January to September 2009 to 9,535 tonnes.
The company said in a statement that for the year as a whole, Kazatomprom expects to receive a net income of KZT 49 billion.
Kazatomprom is the national operator for the import and export of uranium, rare metals and nuclear fuel for power plants, special equipment and duel purpose materials. Kazatomprom is wholly owned by the government of Kazakhstan.
