Kentor Gold Limited announced that a regional exploration drilling program at the Jervois Project in the Northern Territory has been successful in identifying new copper and silver mineralization.
The Reverse Circulation drilling program is one of two intensive programs targeting increased Resources at Jervois. The other Diamond Drilling program, aimed at upgrading and extending the initial JORC Resources at Jervois, is due to conclude next month.
Assay results have been received for all the RC holes in the program which was designed to gain an understanding of the potential for mineralization on structural features interpreted from a ground based geophysical program undertaken in 2010. Encouraging anomalous results support the exploration model and indicate the mineralized potential of the project area.
New mineralization: Hole RJ 194, drilled to the north of the known Resources at the Bellbird prospect and south of those at Bellbird North, returned
1. 6 meters 3.18% copper, 23.55 gram per tonne silver and 0.45 gram per tonne gold from 59 meters.
2. Green Parrot: Hole RJ198 drilled under the existing Green Parrot Pit from the eastern wall, produced a best intersection of
1. 7.0 meters 0.42% copper, 0.33% lead and 19.91 gram per tonne silver from 124 meter.
Mr Simon Milroy MD of Kentor Gold said that the encouraging regional RC results form an excellent foundation from which future exploration activities can be planned. The grades emerging at Jervois are very significant. In July 2011, we established an Inferred Resource of 8.8 million tonnes 1.3% copper and 26.7 gram per tonne silver to give 113,000 tonnes copper and 7.6 million ounces silver. Two weeks ago, we announced the assays from the first diamond drill holes which included a best result of 8.1 meters 2.56% copper and 13.45 gram per tonne silver at the Reward deposit. Results from the ongoing diamond drilling at Reward, Green Parrot, Bellbird and Bell Bird North prospects will be available in the coming weeks.”
