Kidman Resources is set to commence diamond drilling at the Blind Calf Copper Project in central New South Wales.
Subject to final approvals from the state’s Department of Primary Industries, drilling is expected to begin in the next two weeks.
The initial drill program will comprise 3 drill holes to a depth of 600 metres, to follow up on an induced polarisation survey carried out in November 2011.
Kidman received strong results from its first IP survey over a 1.5 by 1 kilometre area at Blind Calf.
The IP survey has identified targets at depth, directly beneath previous high grade copper intercepts, which included 23 metres at 7.07% copper from 24 metres.
These new targets lie about 100 metres below the previously drilled zone, and extend to a depth of 500 metres, the limit of the IP survey.
The first phase of drilling will test the major IP anomaly that extends beneath the Dunbars and Blind Calf lodes.
