Kumarina Resources has made some very impressive intersections including 4 metres at 6.5% copper, 0.23% zinc and 93 gram per tonne silver at the Nangeroo Copper Zinc Project which is located in the historically prolific mineralised area of the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
This second phase of drilling was designed to test up dip mineralisation from previous drilling along 400 metres of the Nangeroo structure, with other highlights from the campaign including:
1. 4 metres at 2.30% copper, 0.56% zinc and 26 gram per tonne silver
2. 11 metres at 1.10% copper, 2.3% zinc and 6 gram per tonne silver
3. 1 metre at 1.9% copper, 1.20% zinc and 6 gram per tonne silver
4. 1 metre at 1.50% copper, 4.12% zinc and 35 gram per tonne silver.
The Nangeroo VMS system comprises a number of complex mineralised structures that extend below a series of shafts and shallow pits where an iron rich copper gossan outcrops at surface.
The latest results from drilling under the main area of workings recorded a number of solid copper, zinc and silver grades within a massive sulphide matrix and indicate that mineralisation is continuous from surface down to at least 150 metres depth.
Drilling from the 1970's and 1980’s recorded a number of intersections of volcanic massive sulphides, including the very high grades of up to 14% copper and 10% zinc over intervals of up to 6 metres.
Kumarina is relativerly new to the ASX listing in December 2011 after raising AUD 10.3 million through a successful IPO.
