MGT Resources has discovered high grade tin at the company’s Summer Hill deposit in Queensland. The company, which is listed on the National Stock Exchange of Australia has received assay results from the fourth stage of the drilling program at the Summer Hill main ore zones.
The fourth stage program comprised 29 holes for 1,812 metres of reverse circulation drilling.
Drilling has intercepted tin mineralization at various depths from the Dalcouth, Extended, Veteran and Summer Hill prospects.
Highlights from the drilling program include:
24 metres at 0.55% zinc from 30 metres, including 1 metre at 1.37% zinc
10 metres at 0.55% zinc from 28 metres, including 1 meter at 2.28% zinc
3 metres at 1.68% zinc from 57 metres, including 1 meter at 2.39% zinc
Significantly, all major intersections are within 60 metres of the surface.
Results from the program will be subject to further geological modeling and interpretation to identify new drilling targets and feed sources for the decommissioned Mt Veteran mill.
In addition, MGT is focused on soil and stream sampling around the Summer Hill deposit, geological mapping on old workings as well as new targets, Costean sampling and hand held Niton grid sampling.
Future exploration work will focus on the identification of new mineralized zones within the licence.
