Magna Mining is eyeing tailings opportunities in eastern Russia and has received word that gold, copper and tin tailings in the region have now been released for economic exploitation.
Magna are looking to move a submission of the company's application forward quickly with a visit to Khabarovsk planned for later in the month. The project is located within the Khabarovsk territory in the Far Eastern Federal District, one of Russia’s largest administrative regions and historically the most important tin mining region in the Russian Far East.
Vast and complex polymetallic fields exist containing mineable tin, copper, gold, silver, wolframite, bismuth and indium. Providing some support for operating in the region, infrastructure is advanced due to the area being one of the dynamically developing regions in the country.
Two major highways connect key industrial centers within the region, whilst several air routes facilitate links with other Asian countries, Europe and the Americas. The region’s sea ports are experiencing rapid development with Vanino now a major sea port able to process 10 million tonnes of cargo annually.
