Proactive Investors reported that Philippines focused gold producer Medusa Mining drilling at its Lingig prospect in the Philippines located mineralization in 2 distinct geological settings.
Medusa has drilled 6,400 meters in seventeen angled holes since releasing its last update in March intersecting intervals of 209.1 meters at 0.25% copper, 44.5 meters at 0.34% copper, 159.7 meters at 0.40% copper and 38 meters at 0.20% copper. The 2 located mineralization were a thrust hosted mineralization in the Northern Discovery Area, whose geometry is still to be confirmed and a porphyry associated mineralization below the thrust where consistent copper mineralization has been located.
The company said in the statement that nearly all holes had visible copper mineralization, defining a large copper anomalous zone while mineralization vectors are being defined, anticipated leading to a fertile porphyry source.”
Mr Geoff Davis MD of Medusa said that “We continue to intersect extensive mineralization in increasingly favorable structural and magmatic settings. The discovery of significant new intersections in a high energy/high fluid flow dioritic hydrothermal breccia environment is interpreted to be vectoring closer to the porphyry mineralization source. Drilling will continue using 3 rigs to extend the mineralization, to refine the geological models and to unravel the mineralization controls.”
