
Minsur aims to quadruple tin output at Brazilian mine
Bloomberg cited Mr Lucio Pareja CEO of Minsur SA as saying that the company aims to quadruple production at the Pitinga mine in Brazil in 4 years.
Mr Pareja said that Pitinga should be reaching the 10,000 tonnes per year level eventually. The mine’s current output of 2,500 tonnes of tin should reach 5,000 tonnes to 6,000 tonnes next year. Production at the San Rafael mine in Peru will likely stay at 29,000 tonnes next year.
