Base metals witnessed yet another week of gains a LME, although some of them slipped a bit on Friday. The Shanghai Futures Exchange remained closed last week for the Lunar New Year holiday.
The major factors inducing positive sentiments include signs of a modest US economic recovery and data showing falling inventory levels of the metal although a firm dollar and concerns over the euro zone economy restrained more gains.
Federal Reserve Chairman Mr Ben Bernanke said last week the US central bank was ready to offer the economy additional stimulus after it announced it was likely to keep interest rates near zero until at least late 2014.
